The procedure provides instant results and  healing occurs gradually. Over the next few months, the implants integrate with your jawbone through osseointegration. As the implant melds with your natural anatomy, you develop a stable and long-lasting foundation for your permanent teeth.

Eating and drinking

For the first few days, stick to soft foods and avoid anything hard, crunchy, or hot. SSoup, yogurt, smoothies, grilled fish/chicken and mashed potatoes are ideal. A soft diet protects your temporary teeth and encourages healing.

Oral hygiene

Brush your teeth gently with a soft-bristle toothbrush, ensuring you clean around your temporary prosthesis. We may also prescribe an antibacterial mouth rinse.

How to care for your new teeth for life

Once your permanent prosthesis is in place, caring for your dental implants is easy — just follow normal oral hygiene rules.  

Daily hygiene routine 

Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, and use an interdental brush to clean between your teeth. Floss daily and use a waterpik to remove food particles and plaque. 

Regular checkups

Even with dental implants, regular dental visits are essential. We recommend checkups every six months to monitor your implants and surrounding tissues.

Avoid bad habits

Avoid smoking or chewing on hard objects (like ice or pen caps), as they can compromise your dental implants. If you grind your teeth, use a mouthguard to protect your new teeth.
